Evans Valley Fire District Awarded $1,799,400 Seismic Grant, Contract Finalized with WRK Engineers

Evans Valley Fire District #6 has been awarded a $1,799,400 Seismic Rehabilitation Grant through Business Oregon to strengthen and upgrade its main fire station. The station, originally built in 1978, plays a vital role in protecting our valley and providing 24/7 emergency response services.

Evans Valley Fire District #6 receives $1.8M seismic grant, contracts WRK Engineers for station upgrade. Construction starts 2027.

Following a public RFP process, the district has officially selected WRK Structural & Seismic Engineers to lead the engineering and design for the station’s seismic rehabilitation project. Construction is expected to begin in 2027.

“These upgrades will allow us to remain operational after a major earthquake,” said Fire Chief Tom Davidson. “It’s a big step toward building a more resilient future for the community.”

The project includes structural retrofits, anchorage for critical systems, and upgrades identified through a comprehensive seismic evaluation.
