On August 04, 2006 the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) contacted the Evans Valley Fire District #6 notifying them of a grant award. The grant was awarded through the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program.
The grant will allow for the purchase of new equipment the fire district has never owned before. The grant allows the fire district to purchase a thermal imager (camera) and a dirt extractor (industrial washing machine).
The total dollar amount to be awarded is just over $17,000.00. Delivery of the new equipment should occur as soon as a manufacturer is decided upon.
Chief Fuller is ecstatic over the grant success the fire district has been having over the past few years. "Without the dedication and hard work from Lieutenant Mark Pawlick, these grants would not have been successful" says Fuller.
