19 August 2005: EVFD PRESS RELEASE:

FEMA Awards

"Assistance to Firefighters Grant"

to

Evans Valley Fire District #6

On August 19, 2005 the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) contacted the Evans Valley Fire District #6 notifying them of a grant award. The grant was awarded through the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program.
The grant will allow for the replacement of the fire districts aging Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA's); also known as air packs. Replacement of the fire districts breathing air compressor is also included in this grant award.
Delivery of the new equipment should occur within two months.
Chief Fuller is very pleased to be upgrading the fire districts personal protective equipment. "Providing the most modern safety equipment for the volunteers and staff is a priority' says Fuller. This could only be accomplished through a grant, as our budget would be unable to absorb such an expensive upgrade.
